About Eline

You are the center of the work with me—your goals, your systems and your growth. I work with this in mind using a relational and integrative approach, most often using the internal family systems therapy (IFS) model. For more personal information about me and my background, scroll on.

All parts are welcome. All identities are welcome.

We will create a space where you can be open, expressive, learn new ways of seeing yourself and the world, new ways to cope with the challenges of life, and create new paths to relationship. We work together to bring wholeness, connection and a rediscovery of your strength and purpose.

I am sensitive to the parts of our selves that make us unique, which includes different expressions of gender, sexuality, culture, socio-economic status, ethnicity, race, political ideology, religion, LGTBQIA2S+ identity, and intersectionality. I use mindfulness, my own therapy and consultation to help me address bias that might come up in my work. I partner with clients with an orientation towards social justice, honoring difference and our own deep knowledge of ourselves and our needs.

I am personally interested in meditation and have completed several silent 10-day courses of Vipassana meditation as taught by S.N. Goenka. I enjoy supporting people in exploring the tremendous benefits of mindfulness practices and how you can bring insight and more peace to your inner life.

I am an HSP (highly sensitive person, as identified by Elaine Aron’s research) and really love working with others with the trait of high sensitivity. I identify as a white and non-binary with European and Sisseton-Wahpeton heritage. I currently live in Baja Sur Mexico, on the land of the Pericues people.

History

I received my MSW in clinical social work from Smith College School for Social Work, my MPA from New York University, and my bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Early in life, I attended a Waldorf school K-12, which has also had a profound effect on my development. I have completed a number of advanced trainings (some are listed below) and have experience treating diverse mental health concerns, having worked in community mental health, outpatient, residential, emergency services, a rural medical clinic and private practice settings for over fourteen years.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I had a career in administration and worked in a number of diverse cultural environments, including an international conflict transformation program, in near eastern languages and literature departments (as a student and administrator), with a large international NGO, and in two locally-based immigration service centers. I interned in a couple of different countries (in the Middle East and Asia) and am comfortable working cross-culturally, as I did in all these positions.

My original training in psychotherapy was in relational psychodynamic therapy and object relations. I am certified in IFS and EMDR and am a registered EMDRIA consultant. Generally, I integrate what you need, as a whole person, with my training and experience to create a unique approach with every person I work with.
